The chi is pretty good but NOT worth the money....My mom and my sis both have the Chi and they both like it but I recently bought the Wet N' Dry flat iron for $ 29.99 and I LOVE IT...great price, and I can use it with wet or dry hair...my sister actually borrowed mine and she loves it. check it out here:

Tourmaline arguably provides better results as it emits more negative ions, but nevertheless there are more regular ceramic ones on the market which partly contributes to why they are more popular over tourmaline...part of the reason is, it is kind of the difference between hd dvd and regular dvd, you know not detectable enough to warrant a change over from the older ceramic to the newer tourmaline technology. I do believe that overall though, the tourmaline is better for restoring moisture HOWEVER if you have oily hair type like me, i have found in humid, hot weather, it leaves my hair greasy, so I am definitely opting for a new non-tourmaline iron for the summer months or tropical climate for myself. BUt in general I feel better knowing I have the tourmaline which is quite a bit better health wise and minimumly better for over-all look wise, but again not enough to warrant switching over from a ceramic brand which somebody already loves, if it were just for looks alone..hope I helpes
